Revival on the Isle of Lewis | Duncan Campbell
In our day, it is common to hear about churches “having a revival.” This basically means that they call in a preacher from out-of-town for a week of special meetings, while they invite as many people to church as they can. The result is well-known: many people “get saved” but then never show up to church again and have no more concern for Christ than they did before. One starts to wonder whether this is how “revival” is supposed to work.
This sermon will help you sort through that issue. It is a first-hand account by Duncan Campbell, regarding the events that transpired at the beginning of the revival on Lewis, in Scotland (1949-1952). We hope it will show you that true revival is a work of God, not of a committee, and that its results are glorious, never disappointing.
